(670 The Score) The Cubs have traded right-hander James Norwood to the Padres in exchange for righty reliever Dauris Valdez, the teams announced Monday.
The Cubs recently designated the 27-year-old Norwood for assignment. He compiled a 4.50 ERA in 23 appearances for the Cubs across the last three seasons.
Valdez, 25, has a 3.97 ERA across four minor league seasons.
He had a 4.23 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 43 appearances at the Double-A level in 2019.
