(670 The Score) Away from the team for more than a week after testing positive for COVID-19, Cubs manager David Ross is set to return to work Sunday, bench coach Andy Green told reporters Saturday.
The Cubs revealed on Sept. 3 that Ross and president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer had tested positive. Both of them are vaccinated and have been quarantining since.
With Ross out, Green has directed the Cubs to a 6-2 record.
"My record needs a lot of help," Green joked, according to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com. "There's no doubt about that. So, I don't know if I can petition MLB to have these wins transferred over to my resume."
Green compiled a 274-366 record while managing the Padres from 2016-'19.
