(670 The Score) Chicago might be represented in the "Field of Dreams" game in 2022 too.
As the White Sox prepare to play the Yankees at a specially built field in the cornfields outside of Dyersville, Iowa on Thursday, Cubs manager David Ross on Wednesday made a quick comment that suggested his organization had been tabbed for the made-for-television event in 2022.
"We're in that next year, right?" Ross asked media members.
After a brief pause during which reporters followed up, Ross immediately began backtracking.
"No, we're not, no, we're not," Ross said while laughing. "We're not. We're not."
Ross continued chuckling.
"Dang it, I hadn't heard anything either," Ross said. "I haven't heard one thing about that."
Ross acknowledged it would be a fun event to participate in.
"That'd be nice," Ross said. "It's close."
