Reports: U.S. attorney's office in Chicago sues Cubs over ADA compliance following Wrigley Field renovations

(670 The Score) The U.S. attorney's office in Chicago has filed a federal lawsuit against the Cubs that alleges the organization failed to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act during the recent years-long Wrigley Field renovation project, the Sun-Times and Tribune both reported Thursday morning.

The Cubs failed to provide adequate sight lines for those who use wheelchairs and also failed to include wheelchair seating in new premium club areas, the lawsuit says, according to the Sun-Times. The Cubs constructed most of the general admission wheelchair seating in the final row of seating sections, which is a violation of ADA policy, the lawsuit said, according to the Sun-Times.

Tribune reporter Jason Meisner shared more specific details of the Cubs' alleged wrongdoing in the lawsuit.

In a previous lawsuit brought by a fan a few years ago, the Cubs contended that the Wrigley Field renovations "significantly increased the accessibility of the ballpark," the Sun-Times reported.
