It wasn't immediately reported what the Cubs would receive in return. Maybin, 34, had been playing at Triple-A Iowa, where he was hitting .103 with a .391 OPS in 10 games.
Maybin hit .250 with a .669 OPS in 18 games for the Cubs in 2020.
