(670 The Score) The Cubs turned quite the bizarre 3-2-1 double play against the Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon.
With the score tied 2-2 and the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning, Arizona outfielder Kole Calhoun hit a grounder to Chicago first baseman Anthony Rizzo, who ranged toward the line to field it and then fired home to catcher Robinson Chirinos for the forceout. The crazy part was that the throw almost hit Calhoun, who had to hit the deck to get out of the way and didn't get back to his feet quickly. That gave Chirinos enough time to fire back to first base to Cubs reliever Adam Morgan for the back end of the double play to end the inning.
