(670 The Score) Like everyone analyzing the situation from the outside, White Sox general manager Chris Getz is unsure how his team's right field equation will play out in the 2024 season.

The White Sox have starters entrenched in center field with star Luis Robert Jr. and in left field with Andrew Benintendi, but right field is wide open and currently a big hole.

"That hasn't been established yet," Getz replied Tuesday when asked who's currently atop the depth chart there. "It really hasn't. There are internal options. We've signed some players to NRIs (non-roster invitations to spring training). We've got some internal candidates, but we certainly are not ready to establish who's going to be in right field at this point."

The answer could be someone who isn't currently on the White Sox's roster.

"We're looking to add, we are," Getz said.

The White Sox had abysmal production from the right field position in 2023, with a .219 batting average, 15 homers, 65 RBIs and a .615 OPS from it.

The 25-year-old Oscar Colas got the opportunity to prove himself in 2023 as the everyday right fielder, but he struggled at the plate and with his defensive fundamentals. Colas hit .216 with a .571 OPS in 75 games and was eventually demoted to Triple-A.

Gavin Sheets led the White Sox with 61 starts in right field in 2023, so he could be in line to fill the position often if the White Sox don't make another addition this offseason. He also struggled last season, hitting .203 with a .599 OPS.
