(670 The Score) As he had aimed for, White Sox left-hander Carlos Rodon will return to the mound against the Blue Jays.
Rodon will return from the injured list and start at Toronto in the series finale Thursday afternoon, manager Tony La Russa told reporters Wednesday. Rodon has been sidelined by left shoulder fatigue, an issue the team wanted to be cautious with as he has carried a heavy workload.
Rodon last pitched on Aug. 7. He's 9-5 with a 2.38 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 19 starts this season.
In other good news for the White Sox, catcher Yasmani Grandal's return is "imminent," the Sun-Times reported. He has been out since early July after tearing a ligament in his left knee, an injury that required surgery.
Grandal is hitting .188 with 14 homers, 38 RBIs and an .824 OPS in 63 games this season.
