(670 The Score) After plenty of speculation of a deal, the White Sox did not trade away ace Dylan Cease or shortstop Tim Anderson prior to Tuesday evening MLB trade deadline.

The White Sox declared themselves as sellers for the MLB trade deadline, dealing away starters Lucas Giolito, Lance Lynn, relievers Kendall Graveman, Joe Kelly, Reynaldo Lopez and Keynan Middleton, plus slugger Jake Burger. However, Cease and Anderson remained on the roster after the deadline passed at 5 p.m. CT Tuesday.

Cease, 27, is 4-4 with a 4.15 ERA over 22 starts this season. He is under contract with the White Sox through 2026, though the team was willing to explore a potential deal, according to multiple reports.

Anderson, 30, is hitting .245 this season. A two-time All-Star shortstop, Anderson's deal with the White Sox expires after this season.

The White Sox are 43-64 this season. They open a three-game series with the Rangers on Tuesday night in Texas.
