(AUDACY) The 2021 MLB All-Star jerseys are in and they're, well, something.
With the Midsummer Classic taking place at Coors Field, the uniforms have taken on a Rockies theme with navy blue New Era caps with each team's logo redone in red and white and a purple star with snow-capped peaks on each point.
The uniforms will be two-button batting practice jerseys — navy blue for the American League and white for the National League — with team abbreviations running vertically in red with the logo placed over the abbreviation for an, um, interesting look.
Oh, and if you think these uniforms are just for batting practice and the Home Run Derby, think again.
For the first time, the players will actually wear these jerseys during the All-Star Game, ending the longstanding tradition of players wearing their own team's regular uniforms during the All-Star Game.
Naturally, fans (and media) weren't happy with these uniforms nor the decision to have players wear them during the game. So of course, they voiced those thoughts via social media.
