(670 The Score) The White Sox have signed outfielder Brandon Guyer to a minor league deal, according to multiple reports.
The expectation is Guyer will have the opportunity in spring training to compete for a spot on the Opening Day roster.
Guyer, 33, hit .206 with seven homers, 27 RBIs and a .671 OPS in 221 plate appearances across 103 games with the Indians in 2018. He has a .727 OPS across a seven-year MLB career that has been spent with Tampa Bay and Cleveland.
If he proves himself in spring training, the righty-swinging Guyer could potentially be used in a platoon with the lefty-swinging Daniel Palka and Nicky Delmonico in the White Sox's outfield.
