Believe it or not, this is not a remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds.”

A suburban neighborhood in Australia was the sight of an avian invasion as a massive flock of cockatoos descended upon the area on April 27th.

In a video capturing the eerie event, thousands of white corella cockatoos can be heard shrieking as they take over lawns, roofs, and street lights in Nowra, New South Wales.

The corellas are native to the area and are known to wreak havoc, but little can be done due to their protective status, reported Storyful.

According to local reports, in the past the birds have caused damage to store fronts and littered streets with droppings.

It is unclear how long the invasion lasted and if there were any reports of destruction to the area.

Cinema fans will notice the similarity to the Hitchcock horror classic “The Birds.”

In the 1963 film, residents of Bodega Bay, California come under attack from a flock of violent birds over the course of several days.

Co-starring Tippi Hedren, Rod Taylor and Jessica Tandy, the movie was labeled "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the United States Library of Congress and selected for preservation by the National Film Registry.

A television sequel was released in 1994 entitled “The Birds II: Land's End.”

It was poorly received with the director, Rick Rosenthal, removing his name from the project and replacing it with Alan Smithee, the industry pseudonym used when someone wants to disown their involvement in a film.

While the sequel had no involvement by Hitchcock, Hedren, who is the mother of actress Melanie Griffith, did appear in a supporting role.
