Amazon Prime users can now get $0 Uber Eats delivery fees

Audacy News: It's a better than expected October jobs report

Looking to save some money on your next meal? Amazon is offering free delivery on Uber Eats orders over $25, but only for its Prime members in the U.S.

According to data from Empower.com, people spend an average of $118 on food delivery every month. It said that food delivery is actually one of the most popular non-essential splurges for 27% of people.

CapitalOne Shopping estimated that there were around 180.1 million Amazon Prime members in the U.S. Prime is Amazon’s membership program – it includes access to exclusive deals, Amazon’s TV programming and more. Monthly Prime memberships cost $14.99 and annual memberships cost $139.

To get the free delivery deal, Prime members must place their Uber Eats orders through the Amazon Shopping app or Amazon website, not the Uber Eats app or website. When customers order Uber Eats through Amazon for the first time, they’ll be asked to allow Amazon to share information needed for the transaction.

“Uber Eats on Amazon is not connected to an Uber Eats account you may already have,” Amazon explained. “Your existing Uber Eats account activity will not carry over.”

Consumers should also note that the benefit only applies to restaurant delivery orders. There is no $0 delivery offer for grocery deliveries, rides or pickup orders. Additionally, the latest version of the Amazon Shopping app should be used.
