A Florida man is suing Outback Steakhouse after alleging he was injured when a toilet shattered and collapsed beneath him inside a restaurant bathroom.
The lawsuit was filed in Marion County and seeks more than $50,000 in damages.
According to the complaint, the incident happened while the man was using the restroom at the Ocala-area Outback Steakhouse. He alleges the toilet was not properly secured to the floor, causing it to break apart and fail under normal use.
The lawsuit claims the restaurant was negligent in maintaining safe restroom fixtures and failed to inspect or repair the toilet before the incident. The man says he suffered physical injuries and ongoing pain as a result of the collapse.
Outback Steakhouse has not publicly commented on the lawsuit. Court records show the case is in its early stages, and no hearing dates have been announced.
