Denver Broncos fire Vic Fangio

Black Monday got started a day early as the Broncos announced that the team was moving on from head coach Vic Fangio after Denver played its final game of the season on Saturday, a 28-24 loss to the Chiefs. He went 19-30 in three seasons as head coach of the Broncos.

The 61-year-old ought to still be a hot commodity this offseason as he is still among a highly respected defensive mind around the league and could fill in as a coordinator for any team looking for one.

Monday, 9:10 a.m. ET: Vikings reportedly fire Mike Zimmer

The first domino to fall on actual Black Monday is Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, as well as GM Rick Spielman, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

This marks the end of an eight-year tenure for Zimmer with the Vikings, finishing with a 72-56-1 overall record but has missed the playoffs in each of the last two seasons.

Monday, 9:18 a.m. ET: Bears fire Matt Nagy

As widely expected the Bears have parted ways with Matt Nagy after another disappointing season in which Chicago finished 6-11. While the Bears made the playoffs a year ago, they have not had a winning record since Nagy's first season in 2018 when they went 12-4.

GM Ryan Pace has also been fired.

Monday, 9:29 a.m. ET: Dolphins fire Brian Flores

In a somewhat surprising move, the Dolphins have parted ways with head coach Brian Flores, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. In three seasons with the Dolphins, Flores had a 24-25 record and failed to make the postseason each year despite a 10-6 2020 campaign.

After a 1-7 start this season, the Dolphins won seven straight and finished with wins in eight of their last nine games, showing some promise, but that did not seem to be enough for Flores.

Monday, 12:03 p.m. ET: Joe Judge reportedly staying with Giants

According to Josina Anderson, the Giants plan to stick with Joe Judge after two losing seasons and ending the 2021 campaign with six straight losses to finish 4-13.
