The Baltimore Ravens' win over the Pittsburgh Steelers last weekend continued success for big favorites in Wild Card games over the last two decades. That success hasn’t carried over to the Divisional round.
That was the 51st postseason game since the 2003-04 NFL season to include a favorite of at least eight points. Those teams are 25-26 against the spread (ATS). But if you eliminate wild-card games (17), those teams are just 13-21, including 12-17 in the divisional round.
As of Tuesday’s NFL odds at BetMGM, the Detroit Lions are a nine-point favorite against the Washington Commanders for Saturday’s game.
The Lions went 2-1 ATS during the regular season when favored by at least eight points. Washington hasn’t been an underdog to that degree since they were 13-point dogs in last year’s regular-season finale against the Dallas Cowboys
