The Commanders have made another move to bolster their defense, signing veteran CB Ahkello Witherspoon to a one-year deal.
Witherspoon, 31, visited with the team on Thursday, and agreed to sign according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. He has spent the last three seasons with the Rams, notching two passes defensed and an INT in six games (two starts) last season.
Prior to that, he spent four seasons in San Francisco – while current Commanders GM Adam Peters was in the front office – and two with the Steelers, who selected him in the third round in 2017.
Over his nine NFL seasons, Witherspoon has 13 interceptions and 60 pass breakups in 96 games (64 starts).
