A second former Cowboy reportedly following Dan Quinn to DC: per NFL Network reports, the Commanders are signing former Dallas center Tyler Biadasz to a three-year, $30 million deal.
That news follows reports earlier Monday, the first day of the NFL’s three-day ‘legal tampering’ period, that Washington will sign former Dallas defensive end Dorance Armstrong.
Biadasz, 26, was a fourth-round pick in 2020 who played 12 games (with four starts) as a reserve lineman that season, and he has started 49 of Dallas’ 51 games over the last three seasons. The 6-foot-4 Wisconsin alum won the Rimington Trophy as the nation’s best center in 2019, and was a Pro Bowl Alternate in 2022. Per PFF, he has 19 accepted penalties (nine holding, seven false start, three other) in 3,725 career snaps.
The Commanders have a lot of holes on the offensive line after releasing Charles Leno Jr. and Nick Gates and seeing Cornelius Lucas, Tyler Larsen, and Saahdiq Charles reach free agency – meaning five of the seven players who combined for more than half of the OL snaps last year are gone.
Center in particular was a problem spot, as Gates played poorly and was benched in November for Larsen. Washington drafted Ricky Stromberg, who played all three interior spots in college, in the third round last year, but he took just 26 snaps on the line last season, and may now be a candidate to compete with Chris Paul for the left guard spot.
