ESPN's Courtney Cronin tells Kevin Sheehan don't expect the Bears to roll over Thursday night

It is a quick turnaround for the Washington Commanders after a game in Philadelphia on Sunday to host the Chicago Bears on Thursday night at FedEx Field. To get into the winless Chicago team, ESPN's Bears reporter Courtney Cronin joins the Kevin Sheehan Show.

While the Commanders are coming off an emotional, overtime loss to the Eagles in which they tied the score on the final play in regulation, the Bears are coming off an even more emotional and devastating loss to the previously winless Denver Broncos, after throwing away a 28-7 second-half lead at Soldier Field

"When I was talking with guys in the locker room the other day," Cronin said to start her answer to a question about the Bears mentality entering TNF, "they come off the Chiefs loss [in Week 3] they were blown out, at no point in that game were they competitive and while, statistically that's the worst loss they had in a long time, this one against Denver... [wide receiver] DJ Moore told me it was heartbreaking. And you can understand why.

"They were up [21 in the third quarter] and they blew it. They blew it in every facet, it wasn't just the defense giving up two touchdowns it was Justin Fields' stip-sack fumble that was returned for a touchdown... there were all these moments when they were so close to victory, the first one in 14 games, and then once again it's the same story."

Cronin added that even with all the turmoil going around the team since the preseason, she gets the sense that there is almost a "YOLO" feeling around the club to block out everything around them and focus on doing what they can to arrest this tailspin that they have been on for a season and a half and hope they can build off a good three quarters against Denver on Sunday.

With that being said, Thursday at FedEx Field is "the biggest game of the seaon" for the Bears and there is confidence from Fields, who had something positive to take away from a game for the first time in a long tiem.

And while Washington has allowed 30 or more points in each of the past three weeks, Chicago is right there with them and more after allowing 38 points, 27, 41 and 31 to start the 2023 NFL season.
