The Washington Commanders have fired Ron Rivera and started their search for his replacement and head of football operations. These are the first big moves of the Josh Harris ownership group as they started the first full offseason in charge with some expected but seismic moves.
ESPN's Courtney Cronin joined the Kevin Sheehan Show to look at some of the names that Washington has brought on to assist Harris with the hiring of a new head coach and head of football ops – the NBA's Bob Myers and the Minnesota Vikings former GM Rick Spielman – and why Harris should be commended for setting up this specific search committee.
Cronin covered the Vikings while Spielman was involved and now is in Chicago covering the Bears, whom the Commanders have reportedly contacted to request an interview with their current assistant GM Ian Cunningham.
Plus, Cronin Kevin Sheehan also looked ahead to the NFL Draft to discuss what the Bears could do with the first overall selection ahead of the Commanders picking at No. 2 and what that means for the future of Chicago's third-year starter Justin Fields.
