Ron Rivera met with new Commanders owner Josh Harris early Monday morning and was informed that the team would be moving in a different direction, firing him after four seasons and a 26-40-1 record in Washington. Craig Hoffman began by sharing his initial reaction to the day's big news that was hardly breaking, but to reflect on where the football team stands know, where they go from here now and what is on Josh Harris' to-do list next.
Later, Hoffman decided to give the fired head coach – the seventh and final permanent head coach hired by previous owner Dan Snyder – a proper send-off with his eulogy for the 'Ron Rivera Era'.
And this is how Hoffman started: "This was a man who coached a football team not very well during arguably the most turbulent time an NFL franchise has ever had. And most of that turbulence was not anything that Ron Rivera could have done anything about other than not take the job in the first place."
