Has Dan Snyder changed his tune on Jeff Bezos bidding to buy the Washington Commanders?

According to a Friday morning tweet from Fox Business reporter Charles Gasparino, the latest from inside Snyder’s camp is that the Washington owner has “no problem” with a bid from the Amazon founder.

Snyder “will NOT reject a Bezos offer because he understands his role” with the Washington Post does not involve editorial,” Gasparino added.

Bezos, who owns the Post, had apparently been the target of the Commanders owner’s ire due to numerous investigative stories into the toxic workplace culture around the organization that took place under Snyder’s watch.

Reports this week indicated the Snyder had received two official bids for the Washington franchise from a group being led by Josh Harris – which includes Mitchell Rales and Magic Johnson – and one from Steve Apostolopoulos, both believed to be for $6 billion.

In late February, Josh Kosman of the New York Post reported that Snyder had “prevented” Bezos from “entering the private auction” despite the Amazon founder’s desire to participate. This came after Bezos had hired the investment firm Allen & Company "to evaluate a possible bid" for the Commanders.

At the time, Kosman cited a source closely watching the sale saying of Snyder, “He’s an ass and he may not want to give it up.”

One non-Bezos-related note from Gasparino’s tweet was that inside Snyder’s camp “they are aiming for [a] $6 billion sale.” This could be interpreted to support reporting from Front Office Sports’ AJ Perez that the bids for the Commanders may not have reached the $6 billion asking price Snyder had reportedly placed on the franchise when the sale process began to heat up several weeks ago.

Perez reported Tuesday that "there are questions over whether" Apostolopoulos has the "financial wherewithal to be considered a serious contender" to purchase the team.

And, later, he reported the Harris group made the only offer with the financial resources that can get through the NFL's vetting process. "Harris is the only bidder with a chance," a source told Front Office Sports.
