In Chicago, the No. 1 overall pick, Caleb Williams, has reportedly been having a bit of a rough start to his time under center at OTAs. That has not been the case for the No. 2 overall pick, Jayden Daniels with the Washington Commanders. And that got one listener to the Kevin Sheehan Show to write in that "maybe we finally got it right."
Sheehan noted the "dozens of stories" about Williams' struggles in Chicago popped up when he did some research on the Bears' quarterbacks start. "But apparently he is actually having a difficult time so far," he noted, adding that the struggles are so much so, that Chicago veteran players are doing their best to encourage him through some of the tougher days.
But we're not even really talking about practice or training camp, but these are minicamps and OTAs. How much stock can we put in the good of Daniels or the bad of Williams? Should we not take everything from right now in May with a big grain of salt?
"OTA days really weren't that big of a deal until five, six, seven years ago, maybe," Sheehan said. "... God almighty, what are we doing here? They don't play games until September. [Williams has] got plenty of time to get comfortable to work it out."
He added: "You just have to really ignore a lot of what goes on here."
