A little Rooster crowin’ in the morning – well ahead of his usual 1-4 p.m. shift on sibling station The Team 980, Chris Russell joined JP, Bish, and Cakes in studio to discuss the future (or lack thereof) of the Redskins name and his role in the controversy around Jason Wright’s comments.
“Someone from the tam reached out to me – I’ve supported Jason Wright more than almost anyone, and I was not questioning him; I was simply saying everyone was running around with the narrative that this ownership group definitely is considering changing the name from Commanders, but COULD go back to Redskins,” Russell said. “There was a petition of over 100,000 people – why not just say that sometimes people speak aggressively, so let’s find out if he’s speaking for himself, or for the group?”
