Robert Griffin III is back and he is here to hype up the new era of the Washington Commanders. In the team's slickly produced "welcome home" video it shows Griffin arriving at FedEx Field, stepping out of an Eastern Motors car, and between highlights, the former Redskins quarterback says: "What makes a house a home? Some might say, it's what you have on your shelves. Others say it's the memories. But for me, it's always been about the people. This brotherhood, this city, will always be home. And our house, can get a little bit rowdy. To those we haven't seen in a while, to those who never left, welcome home."

Kevin Sheehan called Griffin a "polarizing figure in this fan base, at best and more disliked at worst," but overall, had no issue with the team using him to send this message at this time. "Look 2012, during the [Dan] Snyder years is at the top of the list," Sheehan said of the QB's rookie season being "in terms of the actual excitement for this franchise hard to top" when looking at the time under the franchise's previous owner.

"If you're looking for an opinion on this I've got one and that's it," Sheehan said. "It wouldn't be my choice if I were the franchise to use RGIII to hype the opener against Arizona, which doesn't need that hype anyway.

"But I'll tell you what, I'm passed that. Ok? We all lived through that. Nobody understands [Griffin] like this fan base does. Nobody does... but I am not going to get overly worked up about this."

Sheehan added: "I'm ready to partially move on and I am also, 100 percent [of the belief] that everything's ok if the ownership make certain mistakes here or there. I'm fine with it for a long time. We got plenty of honeymoon time with new ownership. I know this [video] upset a lot of you. It didn't upset me nearly as much. It would have, perhaps, a few years ago, not as much now."
