Magic Johnson made it clear that he was not happy with the Washington Commanders' effort in what was the most embarrassing loss of his short tenure as part of the franchise’s new ownership group.

Johnson took to X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, and sounded off on Washington’s effort after an ugly, 40-20 blowout loss to the previously winless Chicago Bears at FedEx Field on Thursday Night Football.

“Tonight the Commanders played with no intensity or fire,” Johnson posted. “We didn’t compete in the first half and got down 27-3 heading into halftime. It was too big a hole to climb out of and that is why we ended up losing 40-20.”

The Commanders were dominated from start to finish, as the defense once again did not look as advertised, dropping Washington’s record to 2-3 heading into a long break before visiting the Falcons in Week 6.
