Paul Charchian's Week 5 fantasy advice, plus let Sam Howell 'throw downfield'

NFL Week 5 is here and it is time to set your lineup for the Fantasy Football slate which means fantasy expert Paul Charchian of Guillotine Leagues joins the Kevin Sheehan Show to give some much-needed advice.

Before getting into all that, Charchian talked about how he believes the majority of Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell's play has been good, but he wants to see one more thing out of the Washington offense.

"Is it gonna be inconsistent? Of course, it is. But I thought, other than the Buffalo game, I feel like he's played pretty well and a juicy matchup [Thursday night]!" Charchian told Sheehan. "This Bears secondary was bad to begin with but the injuries in this secondary... it's just, man! I want to see Sam Howell pick this defense apart. And I want to see him open up a passing game that's downfield, please!

"Can we get Jahan Dotson open downfield? The fact that he's been so underutilized has been frustrating and I just hope he's healthy enough to be a difference-maker and I know that's an ongoing issue and maybe he's not gonna be healthy enough, but man, that's like the next one big thing that I want to see come out of Sam Howell is a better deep game and more opportunities to throw downfield."

And while Sheehan pointed out the success of the quick-game against Philadelphia, Charchian countered by saying the Chicago pass-rush and secondary are so bad that this is a huge opportunity for Howell to get the opportunity to throw the ball downfield as he "has the ability" to do more than average just eight yards down the field.

"This is a perfect opportunity to build some downfield passing confidence for the kid," he said.
