Tyler Polumbus is coming back to DC, as he’ll be one of the former Redskins back for an alumni weekend with the Commanders during their Week 3 showdown with Buffalo.

Polumbus and Chris Russell got to be good friends while Tyler was here in DC as a ‘Skin, and last week, he joined Rooster on the Team 980 to chat about a lot of things, including what ended up being a 35-33 Commanders win over Denver (another former team of his) – but it’s what Polumbus said about returning to Washington that turned some heads.

Specifically: he, like MANY others, is glad the Dan Snyder era is over.

“First off, Tim Hightower has done a tremendous job in his alumni relationship role, gathering the troops and making everybody feel like they're a part of things, sending out updates and everything like that,” Polumbus said, “but look: I’m fired up Dan Snyder is gone, I’ll just put it that way. I don’t stand alone on that one, but I’m very excited, and the fans deserve to feel excited again.”

Indeed they are, as Week 3 is the second consecutive sellout in the Josh Harris era, and that’s something he’s excited to see.

“It’s so cool to see that stadium was full for week one, and it’s been a long time coming,” Polumbus said. “It was the biggest stadium in the NFL at one point that was always sold out, and then they downsized and couldn’t even remotely fill it up when they downsized did. So, I’m very happy for that organization, and very happy for that fan base.”

Polumbus has not yet met anyone in the new ownership group, but hopefully, that will change Sunday.

“I have not met the new ownership group by any means, but if I get an opportunity this weekend, that'd be fantastic,” he said, “but I'm very, very happy that we got a fresh beginning.”
