Is the Commanders-Cowboys rivalry dead?
Washington and Dallas have been long-time adversaries, division rivals, and straight up bastions of hate for one anothers’ fan base over the years, but outside of the Week 18 win in a meaningless game for both teams last season, not much has gone right on Washington’s side of late; they’re 3-4 against Dallas in the Ron Rivera era, with both wins coming in 2020, and Dallas is 13-6 in the last 10 years heading into Sunday’s game.
That’s not to mention that over that decade, Dallas has four division titles (five with a win or an Eagles loss Sunday) and six playoff appearances, while the RedTeamManders have two of each – one of which was 2020’s 7-9 division title – but zero playoff wins, and have in fact won more than eight games just once since Mike Shanahan’s penultimate year with a rookie RG3 at the helm.
On Friday’s show, the last football preview show of the season, Kevin Sheehan and Denton Day discussed whether or not the rivalry is dead, and took some calls on the subject – take a listen above!
