The Washington Football Team is placing Kyle Allen on its Reserve/Covid-19 list and signing quarterback Jordan Ta'amu to its practice squad, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Allen's addition brings Washington's Covid list to 12 players as it prepares to face the Philadelphia Eagles in four days. Earlier Wednesday, defensive tackle Matt Ioannidis became the seventh defensive linemen added to Washington's Covid list. Other notable additions this week include Jonathan Allen, Kendall Fuller and Tim Settle.

Allen's loss leaves Taylor Heinicke as the only quarterback on Washington's active roster with starting experience heading into Sunday's game. Kyle Shurmur was the only other quarterback on Washington's practice squad prior to the reported addition of Ta'amu. Shurmur has been with Washington since mid-September.

Heinicke suffered minor knee and elbow injuries during Washington's Week 14 loss to Dallas but has insisted he'll be good to go against the Eagles.

Ta'amu has spent several seasons bouncing around NFL practice squads, most recently with the Detroit Lions in Aug. 2021, since going undrafted out of Ole Miss in 2019. He also had a brief stint in the short-lived XFL restart in 2020 where, coincidentally, he was the starting quarterback for the St. Louis Battlehawks over Heinicke.

Below is the most up-to-date reflection of Washington's current Reserve/Covid-19 list (along with the dates each player was added).

Washington's Reserve/Covid-19 List:

Unvaccinated players must undergo a mandatory 10-day isolation period before being given a chance to return.
