Craig Hoffman welcomes on Washington D.C. native and ESPN's Clinton Yates to discuss the biggest news in the District for some time: Ted Leonsis' plans to move the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals to a new arena complex in Potomac Yard outside Alexandria, Virginia in 2028. Hoffman asks Yates if he feels that the Monumental Sports owner has betrayed D.C. by moving to the Commonwealth.
And Yates says Leonsis is very much underestimating how much this proposed move will rile up negative feelings about him and how many people will walk away from their Wizards fandom.
"I haven't seen one single person who cares about basketball, who cares about the Wizards and who cares about D.C. who has said, 'Yeah, this is a good idea," Yates told Hoffman. "Not one."
