Brantley Gilbert and his wife Amber have a long history together. In fact, the star-crossed lovers met and started dating when they were in high school. But they attended rival high schools, so not everyone was on board with them being together.
"I'm from Jefferson, Georgia," Brantley explains in a statement from his label. "I was born and raised there, graduated with 66 people. It was a tiny town. My wife graduated from Commerce High School, which is right across the river. It's literally like they're three, four, miles from each other.
"But it was the most hated rivalry for high school football in the state of Georgia. You weren't supposed to date across the river. So, we had like a little Romeo and Juliet thing goin' on."
Even now, Brantley and Amber seek middle ground, making a home between their hometowns. "We live in Maysville, which is like neutral territory," Brantley explains. "It's right in between the two."
