Carly Pearce celebrates the queens of '90s country in her new EP "29"

Carly Pearce has made no secret of her admiration for the women of '90s country, and that's particularly evident on her latest collection, 29, which came out a week and a half ago. As we enter Women's History Month, which celebrates women's contributions to society, that's especially means something to the "Next Girl" singer.

“If you listen to it, you’ll hear a lot of 90s female country influences on it, like Patty Loveless, LeeAnn Womack, The Chicks, Sara Evans, Dolly, Reba … all of them," Carly shares in a statement from her label, about 29.

"What I love about 90s country and all of those females is the amazing production," she continues. "I feel like it was honest, rootsy, vulnerable, sassy, all wrapped up into one. And they all had very distinct tones.

"And they were true artists, which I think is so special.”
