You never know who's watching.
As a little girl in Texas, Mickey Guyton found inspiration watching a country singer (who wasn't that much older than she was) perform the National Anthem at a sporting event, and when Mickey sings the National Anthem at this weekend's Super Bowl, she's hoping that maybe she'll do the same for another little girl.
"When I got the call asking if I would sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl, that was the last thing that I ever thought I would ever hear in my lifetime," she gushes in a statement from her label. "And here I am getting to sing the National Anthem and getting to be on a list of great singers who have sang it.
"This is such a full circle moment for me," she continues. "I wanted to become a singer after I saw LeAnn Rimes sing the National Anthem at a Texas Rangers baseball game, and here I am as a grown woman that's going to be standing on that field singing this song, and my intentions are togetherness."
Meanwhile, LeAnn Rimes is sharing in Mickey's excitement, noting on social media, "Can't wait to watch you do your thing! SO excited for you!"
