Jimmy Fallon’s late-night hosting duties were next-level last night as he played guitar for Chris Stapleton, whose guitar player fell ill the night before the performance.

Just before announcing Stapleton as the musical guest on his show, Fallon told the audience he received a text from Chris the night before the performance saying his guitar player could not make the appearance due to an earache.

It was a non-issue for Jimmy, who responded, “Say no more” as he pulled a guitar out from behind his desk.

“We actually got on the phone and facetimed last night,” Fallon explained to the audience. “[Chris] tried to teach me the lick and the chords of the song and I’m going to try my best.”

Fallon got up from his desk and walked over to perform “You Should Probably Leave,” alongside Stapleton and wife, Morganne.

Fallon’s performance was quite impressive as he held his own next to one of Country music’s finest. In true Fallon fashion, he found an opportunity to poke fun and lend laughs as Chris playfully turned to him at the end of the song singing “You Should Probably Leave” directly to him. As Fallon pointed to himself he sang, “I should probably leave.”

Guess your 5 minutes of Country music fame are over, Jimmy.
