Dustin Lynch is all about a good time these days. Whether he’s pumping up a crowd with his new single, “Party Mode,” or soaring in the sky earning his pilot’s license, Dustin is all about keeping a “glass half full” perspective.

The 36-year-old’s fresh energy can be experienced throughout his new album, Blue In The Sky, which is the result of a two-year creative process for Lynch. The tracks included were his own form of therapy through the ever-changing world of a pandemic and a tough split from his girlfriend at the time.
“I was just needing to make fun music,” Dustin told Audacy’s Katie Neal of the driving force behind the album’s creation. “But also music that made me feel somethin’.”
Dustin went on to explain he spent most of his time with supportive friends and was out on the water as much as possible. It was there that Lynch found a lot of the inspiration for songs like, “Tequila on a Boat,” which also provided him the album title, Blue In The Sky.
“Blue in the Sky is a lyric from ‘Tequila on A Boat’ that just reminds me that every day we’ve got a choice,” he said. “We can complain about the clouds in life or notice the good and be a ‘glass half full’ type of person.”
Lynch is not only embracing the blue sky figuratively, but literally as well as he continues to rack up hours of flying lessons in hopes of earning his pilot’s license in the near future.
“I’m getting pretty confident,” Dustin said before telling Katie about his latest flying lesson. “I was really excited the other day [because] my instructor didn’t say anything and didn’t have his hands on any of the controls and I was able to do my landings and take-offs just fine!”
Sounds like Dustin could be flying himself to his own shows pretty soon here!
