This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash spoke with Mark Osteen, Vice Chair of the Board of the Baltimore Chamber Jazz Society, (BCJS), professor of English at Loyola University in Maryland, musician and author, and Leslie Gilden, Board Member of the BCJS and Marketing Consultant, about their 30th Anniversary and 2022 Spring Season!
The non-profit's mission is to bring Baltimore outstanding jazz musicians, to present them in an intimate concert setting, to keep ticket prices as low as possible and to carry forward the long and illustrious history of jazz in Baltimore. The organization has never wavered in its commitment to the art form and to Baltimore in spite of having to close down for more than a year.
The 2022 season includes performances by New York Voices on Sunday, February 20th, Stefon Harris and BLACKOUT on Sunday, April 10th, (Stefon is pictured below in the audio player, photo credit Deneka Peniston), and all-female group Artemis on Sunday, May 15th. All shows are at 5pm and take place at the Baltimore Museum of Art auditorium. Tickets are available now at baltimorechamberjazz.org. You can find more information about BCJS on their website, including how to donate. You can also follow BCJS on Facebook.
