This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash spoke with Lisa Davis, Workforce Development Director at the Greater Baltimore Urban League, (GBUL), about their upcoming and continuous Workforce Development programs. Lisa joined GBUL in December 2021 with 20 + years of Workforce Development experience.

Workforce Development is about moving folks to employability connecting them to Education and Training programs making sure to meet participants where they are whether that's through providing transportation, bridging the digital divide, reaching those impacted by Social Justice with resources and employment links, financial literacy, job to career training, Maryland Legal help, etc.

GBUL has several Workforce Development programs both in-person and virtual including their "Workshop Wednesdays" held on Zoom on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 6-7pm. They also work Behind the Fence, meaning working with pre-release inmates via technology working on Returning Citizen programs. They also have Quarterly Workforce Development Resource Clinics in March, June, September and December with the Downtown Partnership of Baltimore.
