The Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Anne Brown, Sr. Director of Communications at the Baltimore Museum of Art, (BMA), to talk about their sold-out Amy Sherald: American Sublime exhibit on view until April 5th and four other exhibitions opening in March and April. Amy is a defining voice of her generation who transformed American portraiture.

Over 100 years ago, the BMA was founded on the belief that access to art and ideas is integral to a vibrant and healthy civic life. The belief is at the heart of the BMA and remains their core value.

In March the BMA has 3 Matisse exhibits opening: Fratino and Matisse: To See This Light Again (March 11-September 6), Matisse and Martinique: Portraits and Poetry (March 18-October 25) and Matisse in Vence: The Stations of the Cross (March 29-June 28). Rachel Lee Hovnanian's Nature Deficit Disorder, a nature-inspired Immersion Room runs from April 1-May 31.

Anne also shared information about the BMA's Making with MICA workshops every other Friday at Lexington Market, monthly Art Hive art therapy, weekly Free Family Sundays for families with children ages 6 to 9 years old and their Thursday evening extended hours. The BMA galleries and BMA Shop are now open until 9pm every Thursday.
