This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Anne Brown, Senior Director of Communications at the Baltimore Museum of Art, (BMA), to talk about their 3 new exhibits that just opened including Flashback: Two Centuries of Baltimore Photography, now on display through February 21, 2027. It's the first major exhibition to examine Baltimore's pivotal role in the history of photography.
The BMA is Maryland's largest art museum. The generous support the BMA receives allows them to create a museum welcoming to all. Your gift helps to fund every aspect of the Museum from free admission to the care and growth of the collection, exhibitions and educational programs.
Visitors can also see acclaimed Baltimore artist Jerrell Gibbs: Come home with me, 32 new paintings inspired by the people, places and experiences that have defined his life on display through May 2, 2027. Also featured at the BMA now through March 7. 2027 is Woven Monuments: Tapestry and Identity in Senegal-the first U.S. museum exhibition in 45 years dedicated to Senegalese tapestries.
The BMA Ball on November 14th is sold out, but tickets for the After Party are still available. Visit artbma.org for tickets and more information. You can also find out more about the BMA's Free Family Sundays, the benefits of becoming a BMA member, the BMA shop and their acclaimed restaurant Gertrude's.
