
This week on Spotlight On Maryland, Gina Crash was joined in studio by Fund For Educational Excellence President & CEO Roger Schulman to talk about their mission and 40th anniversary and popular programs like Heart of the Schools recognizing and celebrating City Schools' Principals. The Fund For Educational Excellence, (FFEE), or The Fund, founded by Mayor William Donald Schaeffer in 1984, is an independent nonprofit organization working to close the equity and opportunity gaps for all students in Baltimore City Public Schools by accelerating solutions, expanding resources and recognizing excellence.
With community input, FFEE identifies challenges, researches & develops recommendations and pushes for innovative solutions to improve Baltimore City Public Schools' policies, processes and programs. They identify, secure and manage private and public funding on behalf of Baltimore City Public Schools. Since Roger joined the organization 14 years ago, the Fund has secured and managed over $85 Million in private and public dollars.
The Fund recognizes and excellence through programs like Heart of the Schools, a year-round, community-led project that celebrates and supports Baltimore City Schools' Principals through recognition, grants and events.
