On this week's Spotlight On Maryland, we had the pleasure of speaking with Jimmy Canton, CEO of the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. This incredible organization based in Connecticut will be opening a second location on the Eastern Shore in 2024!
The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp was founded by Paul Newman in 1988 to give every child the chance to "raise a little hell." Each summer, the camp offers week-long sessions for kids with cancer, sickle cell anemia, hemophilia, and other serious illnesses and conditions. This unique camp experience allows the children to connect with other kids living with that same illness, giving them a sense of community and some time to just have fun. Hole in the Wall also offers weekend programs in the fall for families, and a hospital outreach program that brings camp into hospitals for those who can't make it to camp. Through these programs, Hole in the Wall serves more than 20,000 seriously ill children and their families every year, free of charge.

Traveling to camp in Connecticut is a significant barrier for families; the Hole in the Wall Gang's new Camp in Maryland is going to be able to serve thousands of kids in nearby communities. Thanks to a generous land donation from the Aspen Institute, Hole in the Wall Gang will be opening a second location right along the Wye River in early 2024!

The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is an incredible organization and the impact they have is immeasurable. Donations are always welcome and there will be some incredible volunteer opportunities as well! We are already looking forward to having Jimmy on the show again when the second location is close to opening. You can listen to the full interview below!
