Murder and Mayhem in the Mountains of Western North Carolina have led to the arrest of an elderly man from East Tennessee. Officials in Western North Carolina say 70 year old, Douglas Rex Conner of Greeneville, Tennessee was arrested for murder in Madison County, Tuesday.
The Madison County Sheriff's Office says Conner is charged with shooting and killing a man on Franklin Mountain Road, last month. The victim has been identified as 66 year old, Kenneth Larry Patterson. The Madison County Sheriff's Office says the two knew each other and the shooting is believed to be part of a "domestic related, jealous rage".
Conner is charged with murder and is being held without bond in Madison County.
