The driver accused of hitting and killing a teenage skateboarder in the Upstate, has been denied bond. The crash happened last Wednesday on Old Easley Highway. A 17 year old, who was riding a skateboard was struck by a vehicle who fled the scene.
The teenager was killed in the collision and has been identified as 17 year old, Jose Martinez. The suspect, Nemecio Aguilar Hernandez was taken into custody the day after the crash. He's charged with fatal hit and run.
Officials say Hernandez has previous convictions for DUI and driving under suspension. The crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol. The Department Of Homeland Security has also reportedly put a hold on Hernandez, as well.
