A suspicious package found Wednesday morning has shut down operations at the municipal buildings in one Upstate town. Officials in Simpsonville issued a statement saying "Due to the safety concern of a suspicious package at the Simpsonville Municipal & South Greenville Summary Court building, the Simpsonville Municipal Complex, is closed to the public for the entire day"
. Anyone who was scheduled for Simpsonville Municipal Court Wednesday can call Municipal Assistant Clerk of Court in regards to rescheduling. City Public Information Officer Justin Campbell spokesperson said in addition to the Municipal and Summary Court buildings, the Arts Center, City Hall, Police Department and Fire Department administration buildings are also closed.
Then around noon on Wednesday Campbell released another statement saying "Public safety officials are working diligently to resolve the matter at the courthouse, State, local, and federal agencies are on site is to ensure a thorough investigation."
