Anderson County authorities say a teen has died while swimming with friends on Lake Hartwell. Dispatchers got the 9 1 1 call about a drowning at River Forks Boat Ramp just after 6PM Monday. The body of 17 year old, Abraham Canela Vasquez was recovered around 7:30PM.
The Coroner's office has ruled the death of the Westside High School senior as accidental. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office, sheriff’s office and the SC Department of Natural Resources are investigating.
This marks the latest drowning after multiple incidents have been reported from various lakes around the Upstate in recent months.
