A Woman is in custody after a deadly weekend shooting in the Upstate. Deputies with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office were called to Big Foot Road near Shady Grove Road Saturday, shortly after 5:30 PM.
Upon arrival, Deputies found 63 year old, Douglas James Nelson of Pickens with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Despite life-saving measures, he died of his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives identified a suspect and brought 33-year-old Soshinque Barney White in for questioning. She was later charged with murder and a weapons violation. White is being held without bond in Pickens County. Her mugshot is below.
