A person died in a three-vehicle crash involving semitrailers Wednesday morning on Interstate 90 near Belvidere, just east of Rockford.
The crash involved a minivan and two semis around 6:35 a.m. in the westbound lanes near Johnson Road in Boone County, Illinois State Police said.
One person died at the scene, the state police said. Two people were taken to a hospitals and expected to survive.
Westbound traffic was being diverted off at Route 23.
