
CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Tuesday’s primary election was not a good one for some current and former politicians running for Cook County judge.
21st ward Alderman Howard Brookins Jr. lost his bid for circuit court judge to Lisa Michelle Taylor, a personal injury attorney. 29th ward Alderman Chris Taliafero lost to Assistant State’s Attorney A-ileen Bhandari for judge of the 11th Judicial Subcircuit.
Former State Representative and Cook County Commissioner John Fritchey came in third in a three-way race for 8th Judicial Subcircuit judge, where social worker and family law attorney Bradley Trow-bridge won. But, ShawnTe Raines-Welch, the wife of Illinois House Speaker Chris Welch, won her primary for judge of the 4th Juducial Subcircuit.
