CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Several Chicago firefighters are hurt after their truck slammed into a home on their way to a fire in Auburn Gresham Monday night.
With lights on, a fire truck headed southbound on Damen lost control and hit a house at the corner of 77th Street.
According to Chicago police and witnesses, it was shortly before 10 p.m. on a rainy night.
The fire department tells WBBM five firefighters were hurt and taken to the hospital, where they were initially listed in serious condition. They have since been released.
Two people inside the home had to find another place to stay.
